Fall 2015: Apple Picking Trip (Wilson's Orchard)

Since the weather is nice over the week, MSSUI decided to organize a free trip to Wilson’s Orchard, Iowa City. We drove 4 cars and around 36 Malaysians joined us. There were so many people visiting the orchard, especially families, because it was the weekend which many families decided to spend their time together.

We were fortunate enough to still enjoy ripe apples despite it being the end of the harvesting period due to the approaching cold weather. The orchard offered the visitors opportunities to pick the apples by themselves and eat them at the orchard. We needed to pay for the apples we picked if we wanted to bring them home. Besides that, there was also a big truck that could carry around 30 visitors for a tour around the orchard. It was a free tour; therefore, we took the opportunities to enjoy the ride. For the rest of the afternoon we had our picnic under the tree while enjoying the perfect weather with apple cider and the apple turnovers.
